The Gerry O’Donnell Invite

May 2, 2025 will go down in Chenango Forks Track and Field History as one of the very best days. On a damp, muggy, and then chilly night in Windsor, our Boy and Girl Blue Devils placed in EIGHTEEN events, finished second in four events, won six events, set three School Records, and tied a Meet Record at the 27th Annual Gerry O’Donnell Invite!

Senior Nate Raab won all four events he participated in, jumping over 21 feet in the Long Jump, and setting the new Meet Record in the 100 Meter Dash with a blazing time of 11.02. That is currently the fastest time in Class C in the entire State of New York. He followed those two performances up by breaking our sixty-four-year-old record in the 200 Meter Dash. Jerry Casey set the record running on a 220-Yard cinder straightaway back in 1961 in a time of 22.5, but Nate was able to finish in 22.43! This is currently the second fastest time in Class C in the State by .02 seconds. Lastly, Nate anchored our 4 by 100 Meter Relay Team of Ethan Austin, Lincoln Raab, and Max Harness as they ran 44.54 seconds to break a twenty-year-old School Record and earn a time that is currently fifth fastest in the entire State for Class C schools.

Lincoln Raab and Max Harkness added to their historic performances in the 4 by 1, by finishing third in their individual events (Max in the 100 Meter Dash and Lincoln in the Long Jump), while also joining Sam Paske and Jake Clutz in running a 3:35.25 and taking the victory in the 4 by 400 Meter Relay. That time is currently Top Ten in New York State Class C.

Sam was able to run his leg after eclipsing our School Record in the 400 Meter Hurdles! The previous record of 58.94 was set by Jeremy Brauer in 1991 and tied by TJ Robinson in 2015, but Sam finished in 58.50, a time that is currently fourth fastest in the State for Class C! To add to his amazing day and show what a unique talent he possesses, Sam also finished fifth in the Discus!

Rounding out the day, Ethan Vaseleck placed second in the Triple with a leap well over 40 feet, freshman Abdual Bumbrey ran a PR and placed 8th in the 200 Meter Dash, senior Aiden Argento crushed his PR in placing 10th in the 400 Meter Dash, while Bradan Watson and Tyler Andrews also had PRs in their events!

On the Girls side of the equation, Lauren Paske took first in the Shot Put and third in the Discus, while our 4 by 800 Meter Relay team of Grace Harkness, Mari Pourby, Cece Kasmarcik, and Clara Little ran away with an easy victory. Cece came back to finish second int he 800 Meter Run, while Alyx Clutz finished third in the same event.

Katherine Yahner broke through the 6:00 1500 Meter Run barrier for the first time, and Kaden Schultze and Grace Kumiega each had PRs in the 400 Meter Dash. Kaden followed this up by earning a 4th place finish in the Triple Jump, while Jamie Prince placed fifth in the Long Jump.
