Mike Antonio had the rare distinction of being All Conference in football at two different positions: cornerback and kicker.  There cannot be too many instances where those two labels have been attached to one individual… but Mike Antonio was just that kind of rare talent.  After his Varsity football success Mike decided to try out for the Track team his junior year, and he excelled at two different events as dissimilar as cornerback and kicker: the 440 Yard Dash and the Long Jump.

No one in the history of Chenango Forks had made the Top Ten in both the Long Jump and 440 Yard Dash until Mike, and it took forty-five years for anyone else to accomplish this feat when Nate Raab did it in 2025.  Mike won the SUS Championship with a leap of 19 feet, four inches in 1979, becoming just the fifth person in school history to jump over 19 feet.

Amazingly, he was even more accomplished in the 440.  Running the second fastest time in School History, Mike was able to qualify for the State Meet in both 1979 and 1980, being one of only four Chenango Forks Trackmen to make two consecutive State Meets.
