Forks Flock flies high at Forbes Invite

Hello Forks XC Family!

Meet Recap: The girls placed 3rd at the Dave Forbes Invite at Fortin Park in Oneonta this past weekend.  Arianna Hepler and Clara Little paced the team finishing 9th and 14th respectively.  Lena Lindow, Mari Pourby, Katherine Yahner, Becca Yahner, Jaidyn Ericksen-Hrehor, and Kaden Schultze had strong contributions to help the team finish third.  The boys were led by Joe Rullo, Jameson Rattigan, and Nick Dorak recording strong performances white navigating the ground bees on the course!  This resulted in a shorter course by about 200M for the boys.  The girls ran the traditional course from previous years.  Clara, Lena, Mari, Katherine, and Jaidyn were the 5 girls who ran in this meet last year as well as this year.  Collectively they ran over TEN minutes faster at this year's meet! Full meet results can be found here.

This week we are traveling to Pine Grove Elementary in Syracuse for the ESM Invitational.  This is our first time attending this meet so it should be very exciting.  This is a very early bus but it will also be an early day home.  There is a meet in Vestal that same day but the varsity races are spread out in the afternoon.  The meet at Vestal also is on a much more treacherous course.  This should be a great meet and course for our varsity teams.  Here are some logistical items from the host school.

“Parking: Where: Pine Grove Middle School.  1 Spartan Way, East Syracuse, NY.  Parking at Woodland Elementary and Pine Grove only.  We need your help communicating this safety expectation with your parents.  Parking along Kirkville Road is dangerous!!  Staff will be available to direct parking and provide transport via golf cart for those needing assistance.  Handicap tag parking only at Kirkville Road stone lot.   No parking or bus drop-off along Kirkville Road.  NO DOGS PERMITTED.”

Course: Varsity and JV 5K on FLAT grass, fields, and wooded area.  Excellent way to start your race season!  Lots of open space for spectators.
