Blue Devils Roll to 2-0 with Dominant Wins Over Owego on Senior Night

Chenango Forks Track and Field improved to 2-0 on the season Tuesday night with commanding victories on both the boys and girls sides over Owego. The boys won 83-56 and the girls won 90-38 in a meet that featured event sweeps across the board, multiple individual wins, and a stadium record from junior Lincoln.

Honoring Our Seniors

Tuesday night was also Senior Night for Chenango Forks Track and Field. The program recognized seniors Alyx, Jake, Michael, Jaime, Jacob, and Jaxon — six athletes who have given everything to the Blue Devils program. Their leadership, work ethic, and contributions across the sprint, distance, throwing, and hurdles groups have shaped this team. Several of them factored directly into the night's results, capping off a special evening with both a celebration and two wins.

Lincoln Sets Stadium Record in the 200

The night's headline performance came from Lincoln, who broke the Owego stadium record in the 200m with a time of 22.3. The Blue Devils swept the 200 behind him, with Brysen and Abdul finishing second and third to round out the top three.

Sprint Group Dominates

The boys sprint group had a complete night. Lincoln, Abdul, Brysen, and Max won the 4x100 relay. Max and Brysen went 1-2 in the 100. Max also added a runner-up finish in the 400. The boys swept the long jump with Lincoln, Brysen, and Chase taking the top three spots.

The girls were equally dominant. The 4x100 relay team of Lily, Olivia, Maya, and Pati took the win. The girls swept the 100m with Jaime, Maya, and Dahlia going 1-2-3. Grace and Lily went 2-3 in the 200, with Grace and Avery picking up runner-up finishes in the 400 and 400 hurdles. Giuliana added a win in the 100 hurdles.

Distance Group Anchors a Big Night

The girls distance group continued their strong start to the season. Ceci won the 800. Arianna finished second in the 1500. Michaela and Becca went 2-3 in the 3000m, with Michaela making her debut in the event. The girls 4x400 relay of Ceci, Grace, Arianna, and Avery closed the meet with another win, completing a sweep of the girls relays alongside the 4x800 relay team of Becca, Michaela, Alyx, and Grace Hogan.

The boys distance group brought their own depth. Joe finished second in the 1600 and second in the 3200, where Porter made his 3200m debut and finished alongside him. Senior Jake added a second place finish in the 800.

Field Events Carry the Team

The girls were unstoppable in the field. They swept the high jump with Pati, Giuliana, and Izzy. They swept the long jump with Olivia, Izzy, and Giuliana. Maya P won the pole vault. Lily won the triple jump. Jillian completed a clean sweep of the throwing events, winning both the shot put and discus.

The boys held their own. Jackson won the pole vault with Ryan Vasina making his debut and finishing second. Dylan and Camden went 2-3 in the triple jump. Sam and Michael flipped roles in the throws — Sam and Michael went 1-3 in the discus, and Michael and Sam went 1-3 in the shot put.

Hurdles Add to the Total

Senior Jaxon added two strong runner-up finishes for the boys, taking second in both the 110 hurdles and the 400 hurdles — a tough double that contributed meaningfully to the team score.

A True Team Win

What made the night special wasn't any single performance — it was that the Blue Devils scored everywhere. Sprints, distance, field, throws, hurdles. Boys side and girls side. Underclassmen and seniors. Athletes making their debuts and athletes setting stadium records. That's what 90-38 and 83-56 looks like — a complete program competing the way it trains.

The Blue Devils sit at 2-0 and continue to build toward championships at the end of May.
