Forks Rules the Valley!
Chenango Forks Track and Field traveled to Chenango Valley Wednesday night and brought home another sweep, with the girls winning 83 to 44 and the boys winning 72 to 59. Both the boys and girls teams are now 3-0 on the season after a meet that featured triple winners, multiple event sweeps, and one of the gutsiest doubles of the season!
Triple Winners Lead the Girls
Arianna and Ceci both walked away with three event wins on the night. Arianna captured the 1500m, the 800m, and a leg on the winning 4x400 relay. Ceci added wins in the 400m, and the 4x400 along with the 4x800.
Distance Group Sweeps Both Middle Distance Events
The girls distance group put together a remarkable double sweep. In the 1500m, 8th graders Arianna, Michaela, and Becca went 1, 2, 3 to claim the top three spots. In the 800m, Arianna, Alyx, and Katherine repeated the feat with another sweep demonstrating great depth for the team!
Sprint Group Takes Care of Business
The boys sprint group answered with their own sweeps and dominant performances. Lincoln, Max, and Abdul swept the 100m. Max and Abdul went 1, 2 in the 200m. The boys 4x100 relay of Abdul, Chase, Camden, and Logan Kuss took the win to round out the sprint group's contributions.
On the girls side, Jaime added a win in the 200m, and Lincoln continued his strong season on the boys side with wins in both the long jump and the 100m.
Multiple Relay Wins Anchor the Effort
Grace Hogan and Avery contributed to two winning relays each, running on both the 4x800 and the 4x400 winning teams. The relay performance across the night highlighted the depth and versatility of the roster.
Field Events Continue Dominance
Jillian Howell led a girls sweep in the throws, continuing her dominant start to the season. Lily, Olivia, and G swept the triple jump. Maya won the pole vault.
The boys field group added wins from Jackson in the pole vault, Dylan in the triple jump, Lincoln in the long jump, and Michael in the shot put.
Jackson James Pulls Off a Tough Double
The gutsiest performance of the night belonged to Jackson James, who placed in the 400m hurdles and then came right back to win the 800m. Stacking a hurdle race and an 800m back to back is one of the harder doubles in the sport. That kind of effort is what builds our culture and program.
Distance Group Boys Bring Depth
Jackson and Porter went 1, 2 in the boys 800m. Joe ran a huge PR in the 3200 running 11:14.
A Total Team Performance
83 to 44 and 72 to 59. Six event wins from two girls. Two complete event sweeps in the middle distance. Sweeps in the throws, the triple jump, and the boys 100m. Wins in the field, on the track, and in the relays. The team competed everywhere and scored everywhere to improve to 3-0. The Waverly dual will determine the division championship for both the boys and the girls.
