Class Championship Recap

Blue Devils Bring Home Wins and PRs at Class Championship

Chenango Forks Track and Field competed at the Class Championship this weekend with a strong showing on both sides. The boys finished 5th and the girls finished 8th in the team standings, but the headlines came from multiple wins, personal records across nearly every event group, and big performances in the relays.

The Boys Take Both Relays

The boys 4x100 relay team of Abdul, Brysen, Max, and Lincoln took 1st place at the Class Championship. The boys 4x400 relay team of Brysen, Sam, Max, and Lincoln matched the win, also taking 1st. Winning both championship relays at the Class meet is a statement of what this group has built all season.

Girls 4x800 Wins the Championship

The girls 4x800 relay team of Becca, Ceci, Arianna, and Avery won the Class Championship in their event. Three relay wins at the same championship meet is the kind of team day that defines a season.

Boys Sprint Group Stacks the Podium

Brysen finished 3rd in the 100m and Abdul finished 4th in the 200m. Lincoln took 2nd place in the 400m, building on the strong championship racing he has put together all season. Sam added another podium finish in the 400m hurdles at 3rd place.

Ceci Places in the 800m with PRs Behind Her

Ceci doubled back from the 4x800 to place in the open 800m, while Grace Hogan and Alyx Clutz both ran personal records in the same race.

Arianna and Katherine Strong in the 1500m

Arianna placed in the 1500m at the Class Championship after a challenging double coming off the 4x800. Katherine added a massive personal record in the 1500m at 5:34, dropping significant time and continuing her steady season long progression.

Jackson Earns Steeple Top Finish

Jackson finished 4th in the steeplechase. From his first steeplechase race a few weeks ago to a 4th place finish at the Class Championship, Jackson has developed into an elite steeple runner.

Becca Posts 3K PR

Becca ran a personal record of 12:44 in the 3K. Becca has put together one of the most consistent improvement seasons on the team and another PR at the championship meet continues that trajectory.

Michaela Crushes Steeple PR

Michaela ran a huge personal record in the 2K steeplechase at 9:15. The steeplechase is one of the hardest events in the sport, and Michaela has taken to it like she has been running it for years. Her PR at Class is one of the most encouraging single performances of the meet.

Hurdles and Sprints Step Up

Madi and Giuliana both added strong performances in the hurdles. Lily ran a personal record in the 200m at 29.41, continuing the freshman class breakout season that has defined this group all year. Grace Harkness ran a season best in the 400m at 1:06.6.

Girls Relays Add More Hardware

The girls 4x100 relay team of Grace Harkness, Maya P, Lily, and Olivia finished 6th. The girls 4x400 relay team of Ceci, Arianna, Avery, and Grace Harkness finished 3rd and ran a season best.

Field Events Cap the Day

Michael led the boys field events with a 42-8.5 in the shot put. Jillian Howell continued her strong throwing season with a 2nd place finish in the shot put and 5th in the discus for the girls. Maya P added a 3rd place finish in the pole vault.
