Forks XC impresses at Forbes Invite!

A tremendous day at Fortin Park for our CFXC runners today! There were 26 schools in attendance including some powerhouses from section 2. Fortin Park is also the site of the STAC championship later in the season.

This was our first invite of the year and we could not be more proud of how our athletes stepped up. The boys kicked off the day with a 12th place finish. Joe Rullo led our varsity group with a strong 23rd place finish overall, running 18:07 in a very competitive race. Liam VanValkenburg and Jackson James were next for us at 19:04 and 19:21 respectively. Hunter Cosgriff and Tristyn Motell made great debuts in their first varsity invites!

The girls were next and finished third in a deep and talented field! Lena Lindow ran a huge PR, finishing 14th overall in 21:37. Clara Little was right behind her in 15th at 21:40. Katherine Yahner, Rebecca Yahner, and Grace Harkness rounded out our scoring five with great races. Every single one of those spots contributed to that third place finish!

Our JV boys also competed hard with a 10th place finish. Mitchell VanValkenburg led the way followed by Jackson Kilmer, Tyler Andrews, Jonah Sanford, and Ben Harding.

Thank you to everyone who made the trip to Oneonta and cheered our athletes on. This program runs on that kind of support. We are fired up for what is ahead. Next up is the Tornado 5000 at Norwich on September 19th. Let's keep building. Brick by brick.
